Let the spinning wheels churn!

Check out the recently arrived fibers from Stonebarn Fibers/Gypsy Girl Creations. These are handpainted merino and are absolutely gorgeous! They look wonderful next to their sock yarn counterparts, don’t you think?
Also now available, undyed merino, undyed merino superwash, and multi-color packs. All fibers available in 8 oz servings. Yum!

The result of not swatching for a hat - a sweater!

Our knitter friend, Beth, came to us early in November and asked us to help her knit a winter hat. The little bit of swatching she did indicated that her gauge was 5.5 sts/in. We casted on the appropriate number of stitches (i.e., 124) and set her on her way.

I love the Pi shawl!

We began the cast-on for the pi shawl last Thursday, using Emily Ocker’s circular beginning (which I love!). There was quite a turn-out. Approximately 16 knitters came by to cast-on, visit, and laugh. Even better was yesterday when additional knitters came to join (third picture).
