Tugged in Another Direction

Children.  They change everything.

After many long months of deliberating, Eric and I decided that it would be best for our family if we spent the next bit of our lives focused on our children.  As a consequence, (and I can feel the lump in my throat forming again), we need to close the shop.

It’s been absolutely wonderful since Opening, and we’ve been so grateful for all your support.  I can’t begin to thank you enough for all you’ve given us through your kindness and knowledge.  Seriously, my learning curve shot through the roof from all the tips and tidbits I’ve learned from you over the past few years.  Most importantly, I’ve made friendships that are more meaningful than what any retail experience can offer.  Thank you a million times over.

The Knitty Couture blog will continue (a girl’s still got to knit and share, right?).   We’ll still keep in touch, I promise.

Oh this is just breaking my heart - I’m so sorry to hear this! Of course, it makes perfect sense for you and Eric and your family, and it sounds like you’re making a very wise choice. But it’s still not something I (or the rest of the St. Louis knitting community, I bet) wanted to hear.

Thank you so much for the awesomeness that is KC, and for welcoming me to St. Louis back in 2008. I’ll really miss KC, but glad we (again, speaking for St. Louis knitters) at least got to experience it for as long as we did :-)

I’m so sad to hear that you are closing shop but I completely understand. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you these past few months and would love to continue with our monthly playdates for the boys.

If there is anything I can do to help make the transition from working to staying home a smooth one please let me know. For example if you’re looking for fun activities, events, groups, etc. I have several friends who have made the same decision as you in the past year or two.

    See you soon!

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that, but it’s such a good reason. May your children continue to be a blessing to you!

What a difficult decision! I am quite sad to hear about the store closing, but understand the reasons.

Do you have a closing date set?

I agree with everything that has been sad. I am so sorry but completely understand. I always got such inspiration just from coming to the shop and seeing all the wonderful things you’d created. I will look forward to the blog and pics of Gram. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you and will miss jaunts to the store on my lunch hour.

I’ve been so sad ever since I heard this news yesterday. At the same time, I wish you nothing but joy and success and luck in whatever life brings you next. Thank you for making me feel so welcome in your store.

Ack! This is all because I moved to Portland, isn’t it? I miss you AND your store. Hearing that you’re closing makes me very sad.

What a loss for St. Louis knitters. I wish you the very best in your new focus and I’m so glad you’re continuing your blog. I’ll make an effort to stop by while the store’s still open.

Bummer! Right when I moved my schedule around to come to group every Sunday again! Figures :)

    You will be missed!

I have been so busy that I haven’t checked in for a while. I am crushed that you are closing the store. Best of luck to you and your family. I hope someone else decides to give it a go and open a lys in UCity.

Very sad to see you go. (Though I never knitted a stitch.) It was such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
