Fall colors

With the amount of rain and cool weather we’ve received lately, the colors this season seem more brilliant than last year’s.  Over the weekend, Eric and I took a nice stroll at the Garden to admire the changing leaves.  I particularly enjoyed looking at the ginkgos, maples, and um, pretty much everything else in the garden.

It also gave me an opportunity to finally try out the Ziggy Cap which was a really fun knit.  I miss cables, and knitting this cap made me miss them even more.  Worked out of the Shetland Lambswool & Cashmere, the cap required just slightly over one ball so I think I may do a bit of tinkering and use the rest of the 2nd ball (along with a 3rd) and make matching mitts/handwarmers using the same cable pattern.

The only modification I would make for the cap is decreasing the height.  The cap had a tendency to fall right above my eyes… or perhaps I just have a small head.

We have about five (5!!!) weeks left to go before the due date, and I’m having trouble fitting most of my fall/winter wear.   Is anyone really surprise?  Pregnancy will do that to a body.  However, I now have the opportunity to wear the wonderful basketweave cable shawl knitted long ago.  It even blends in with the fall colors!

My staff tease me and say that I never wear anything I knit.  Well, two knits in one day!  How about that?!

Finally! You’re listening to the little people and wearing your stuff! Awesome hat. When you’re in the middle of labor, keep your fingers crossed that your baby inherited your small head!
