As though I didn’t already have enough on my plate, lately, I’ve been dabbling in the skill of weaving. My friend, Lucy, a genius weaver, offered to give me lessons. Here I am, slowly working on kitchen towels on a 16″ floor loom.
For several years, I’ve been interested in learning to weave but hadn’t really had the chance to sit down and do it. When I found out my friend, Betty, was a weaver, I tried to coax her into teaching me. She said, “Thi, you’re taking on too much at once. Where are you going to find the time?” Perhaps she was right. I did feel a bit overwhelmed at times, but then, she surprised me by saying her good friend, Lucy, could teach me.
I hope that I’ll be able to do more than these kitchen towels. With the baby, knitting, work, and many of my other interests, it’s becoming more of a challenge to find time for everything. But what is life if you don’t dabble a bit? Even if it’s just a few minutes here and there, I’m happy.

I’m with you, I’ve wanted to learn how to weave, too.
