I’m still here, I promise!
My knitting has been a bit laxed this summer because as some of you may have heard, we’re having a BABY!!! A BABY!! Eric and I are absolutely thrilled and have been busy non-stop planning and reading and renovating and feeling nervous at how quick the time is passing.
By now, it’s been about 5.5 months, and this little crumb-catcher has been active inside the mom belly. The other night, I felt the baby’s hiccups which, I must say, felt very interesting. We’ve decided not to find out the gender and have had a lot of fun just thinking about the baby to come. During the ultrasound, we did, however, request that the technician write the gender on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. So far, I’ve had no urge to look in the envelope though those of you at the knit shop sure are pushy!
I have a whole array of ideas on things to knit and have been sneaking in baby knitting as much as possible. On the list to knit are little baby socks, mitts, a blanket, washcloths, toys, bunting bags, caps, diaper soakers, and, after seeing them knitted (and near-finished), my husband says, little baby blue jeans. Whether I’ll get to do them all, we’ll see.

What I have done, however, is kept up with the 12 Socks in 12 Months Knit Along. These colorful ones are for my sister, who will be moving to Finland soon. Knitted in K2P2 rib and in Opal 6-ply, these warm socks will definitely come in handy for the early and long winter.

Congrats!!! I’m so thrilled for you two.
A baby? Gee, who knew? I love the socks. Did you take that picture with the socks on the mannequin feet because your ankles are swollen beyond recognition?
You know, the only reason I put up with you is because I like you.
Oh my goodness - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Whoo hoo what fun! Congratulations. I can see the window display now, a shower of baby knitting!
Congratulations! You will be a wonderful Mother!
Now you can sew baby clothes to match the great
