We have two events to promote for this coming Saturday, April 25th!
The first is Farm Day at Prairieland Peruvian Alpaca in Worden, IL. This field trip begins at noon at the shop, during which we’ll carpool over to Worden to visit Lita Murphy and her alpacas. We’ll spend the afternoon at the farm and be back home by 5pm. This is a great opportunity to visit the animals, learn about how they’re raised and their fiber. At the end of the visit, we’ll get the chance to purchase some great local yarn and roving! Give us a call at 314.727.6500 to reserve a spot!
The second event includes a sheep shearing and spinning demonstration at Bowood Farms in the Central West End. Peggy McCallie, owner of WildFlower Farm, will be by the nursery to shear some of her Shetland sheep. We’ll also be there to give a demonstration on spinning, using both the spindle and spinning wheel. If you’re interested in learning this craft, we’ll be more than happy to give a free lesson there.
