Yes, the colors and excitement of seeing such scrumptious, pretty fibers flood me as well, but the realization that I’ve gone a little mad… a little, well, out of control with the size of my collection, will sometimes trump the excitement.
After disclosing this slight disease of mine to my knitter friend, Siri, she suggested a Knit Along to help tame said collection. Much like I can tame my out-of-control UFOs by following her Rule of 3 (which I don’t, by the way, for the mere fact that I’m too weak to say “no”), I could also curb my sock collection with a Knit Along.
Join us for the 12 Socks in 12 Months Knit Along. The rules are simple: Complete a pair of socks by the end of each month, beginning in January.
Sure. For some of you, this will be simple…then make it exciting and challenging. We’re not only knitting socks, we’re going to try out the Cookie A. sock patterns. There are 15 patterns to select from. Try one or all. I may squeeze in a Cookie A. pattern or two during my knitting. Stop by the shop to check them out.
Come by on Thursday evenings, 6pm-8pm, for the twelve months of 2009 to knit your socks with us.

I knew your sock cult would start recruiting before long! I’m calling Jerry Falwell. . . Oh. . . Wait. . . He’s dead. Well, I’m going to get someone on this and the sooner the better. Before long, you’ll be trying to recruit children into making those things! Then, it’ll be fingerless mittens! Where will this madness end?
I miss TJ!
I’d give out a cult chant, but I don’t know of any.
Well TJ, you could always come back and just try and stop us. Or are you afraid we will suck you into our sock cult? You know you want to be one of us, just give in to the sock side of the force, we are strong and many.
And if you can’t tell, I’m in on the Knit-a-long!
