Well… not exactly.
It’s more …. take-weeks-to-knit, mull-over,
rip-back, start-knitting-again,
hate-the-project, hate-the-yarn, curse-the-project, start-over,
convince yourself “Really. It’s okay. Give it another try.”
Curse the yarn. Curse the project.
Heave a sigh. A long one.
Frog.
Frog.
It’s gutsy, I know. How many of you out there have projects laying in the dark corner of the house and know full well you won’t be touching it any time soon? You should do something about it ….um, “but not right now,” you tell yourself. “I’ve put in so many hours. Maybe if I knit just a little more, it’ll begin to look okay.”
It won’t, you know. But most of us carry on and knit that project to completion, only to banish it to the back of the closet… or give it away - that’s a common one.
Well, not me, dammit. My unwanted (yes, unwanted) projects are being frogged. I can’t handle the guilt, the constant, silent nagging of “I’m HERE! I know you don’t want me, BUT I’m HERE!”

So’s the case with this. It was for the hubby, but it. just. wasn’t. meant. to. be.
Frogged it twice. TWICE! At seaming. AT SEAMING! Just when I’m about to kiss it goodbye, it says, “Just one minute.” Again. The yarn obviously doesn’t want to be a sweater vest, so why am I subjecting it to be so? I can’t begin to tell you how many problems I’ve had with this thing.
Thus is the interesting relationship between yarn and knitter.
It will let you know when it’s unhappy with what you decide to assign it to. It will kick and scream and give you hell until finally, one of you gives. Back into a ball or back into a closet.
It. Just. Wasn’t. Meant. To. Be.
There comes a time in our lives when we realize what we’ve been hanging on to simply didn’t want the hanging.
It’s hard, I know. Look what I just did!
So I let it go.
