Show and Tell

Aren’t knitting blogs (and ravelry) all about show and tell, anyway?

I love it when knitters come in and show me what they have created with the yarn that they’ve purchased here. Not only is it exciting to see what others are working on, but it’s quite inspiring.

Alicia, a VERY ADVANCED beginner knitter, stopped by the other day to show everyone her work.

Her first attempt at lace, Alicia knitted the ice queen in Rowan Kidsilk Haze in gorgeous splendour.

Here she is in her first knitted sweater. Working with Berroco Peruvia, this yoke sweater followed the EPS (Elizabeth’s percentage system) and was knitted in the round.

This sweater has actually been through a few changes….prior to this, it was what Alicia termed, “a peasant sweater.” We discovered that, instead of decreases, Alicia was making increases. Hence, the rippling effect for the “peasant” look.

Since, it’s been rectified, and now, I think it looks great.

This swirl hat, knitted (and modeled) by Melissa, is so cute. Knitted for a friend and per his request, in a Seattle grunge color.

Melissa added a touch of “Melissa” — a huge pom pom! Doesn’t it look adorable?

Stop by the shop for a copy of this pattern.
