One of the spring lines I’ve been most excited about bringing into the shop is Farmhouse Yarn’s Bonnie’s Bamboo. I’ve not seen bamboo yarn this gorgeous, with the sheen, feel and look of silk.

The many wonderful qualities of bamboo (e.g., glorious drape, breathable, UV protective, renewable) are reasons enough to knit with it, but Carol Martin, owner of Farmhouse Yarn’s makes it extremely worthwhile with the colorways she has offered us.
In addition, this bamboo yarn isn’t a ribbon nor is it blended with another fiber. It looks like silk but is 100% bamboo and feels fabulous!
Currently available in hues of cream, lilac, peach, indigo, and olive. More colors to come soon!
In the meantime, take a look at the wonderful work Angela, a 1st sweater student, did. Using Berroco Comfort, Angela knitted the body and sleeves of this sweater in the round and connected the parts at the yoke. The yoke was then shaped using a series of short rows.
The basic design of this sweater utilizes the EPS (Elizabeth’s Percentage System) method in which the use of a recommended calculation formula creates a wonderfully desired well-sized garment.
It looks like the sweater was a great fit!

Yay, Angela!!!! When I grow up (pshaw, like that’ll ever happen!) I wanna be just like you! … Nah, I’ll just push you over and steal your sweater.
Thanks T.J.! But I’m kinda big to push over. Thanks for the gushing.
