A little sexy, don’t you think?

I will honestly admit, the only reason I chose to carry this yarn in the shop was so that I can knit a bathrobe. The actual design came later and just in time.

Knitted in Wendy Darling Chenille and doubled on a US 6, this knee-length robe took approximately 18 skeins. I explored various knitting patterns but felt that stockinette was most appropriate and looked best. The sleeves were cuffed to add dimension to the piece.

The collar was continued from the right front and knitted around the neck. Multiple short rows were added to create shaping as well as plush collar. Kitchener’s stitch was used to connect the knitted collar to the left front.

A felted heart was added to the left breast front for interest.

Thick, lush and incredibly soft, this robe feels great. Despite my complaints during the knitting process (e.g., this yarn sheds like a cat), I’m quite happy with the result. Now available for viewing at the shop.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

P.S.
In conjunction with the Love in The Loop event, Knitty Couture will have a semi-secret Valentine’s Day sale on select items for Thursday, Feb. 14th.
