The hubby is spoiled - just a little.

Socks for the hubby. Knitted in Trekking sock yarn, these socks are self-striping and very… handsome.

The finished scarf is for him as well… maybe. I’m quite happy with the result. The double knitting certainly took care of the curling (see prior posts) and made for quite a lofty and incredibly pleasing scarf. This was knitted in two colors of Frontier Fiber Mill alpaca yarn, and approximate yardage was 300 per color.

It was not too much trouble knitting on the second color since stitches were simply picked up as the color was knitted along. The other, perhaps easier, way to double knit is to do both colors at the same time rather than in parts. But what a fantastic way to add interest to an otherwise plain, patterned scarf.

I wore this in the shop one day and swore it was so warm, it made me sweat…. which makes it ideal for a cold, winter day. ….. Cozy…. I will have a hard time parting with this .

These socks are not for the hubby. They’re for the shop and are the fingering version of the tweed mock cable socks (see earlier posts), using Creatively Dyed merino sock yarn. I’m thrilled with the gorgeous colors of the yarn. Though the variegated colorway detracts attention from the pattern a bit, the socks themselves are quite pleasing to the eyes. Both pairs of socks can be viewed at the shop.
