The Start & (near) Finish

One of the things that is so exciting about opening up the knit shop is watching it come to life. I remember after signing the lease, Joe encouraged us to stop by the site and take a look at exactly where the shop was going to be. construction begins“There’s nothing there right now, but you’re going to be right next door to Mirasol,” he told us. Well, I stopped by, and there it was. Our spot. He was right; there was nothing there. Just a big pile of dirt.

But, boy, did it really put a smile on my face.

I’ve stopped by occasionally to take pics of the progress, but the most current is the best. Here’s the shop, near finished, alone. Did you see the unfinished bathroom and office? No yarn, no shelves, no furniture, not even molding on the bottom perimeter. There’s just a bit more to do and some shelving to install. Soon, we’ll be able to move in all of the boxes, equipment, and furniture that have taken over our home months ago.

I don’t know whether to think of it as stressful or exciting. It’ll certainly be exciting and fun to stock the shelves and get ready for opening day, but it’s also stocking the shelves and getting ready for opening day.
